Unlike traditional tattooing, Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo technique designed to create the illusion of natural eyebrow hairs.
In essence, it involves using a handheld tool with ultra-fine needles to deposit pigment into the skin.
Unlike traditional tattoos, the pigment is not placed as deeply.
As a result, Microblading produces soft, hair-like strokes that blend beautifully with your existing brow hair.
While more suitable for oily skin than traditional microblading, excessive oil production can still cause the fine hair strokes to blur over time.
If you have active eczema, psoriasis, or severe dermatitis in the brow area, the skin must be fully healed before we can proceed.
Because Microblading involves creating small incisions, those prone to keloids risk raised scarring in the brow area.
As a safety precaution, we do not perform permanent makeup procedures while you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
We cannot treat skin that is irritated, broken out, or peeling due to recent sun exposure.
Clients on heavy blood thinners may experience excessive bleeding, which can push the pigment out of the skin during the process.
By enhancing your brows in a subtle way, microblading can frame your face and create a more youthful, refreshed look.
Do not pluck, wax, or thread your brows for at least one week before your appointment to allow for more accurate mapping.
Refrain from consuming caffeine on the morning of your session to minimize skin sensitivity and potential bleeding.
Stop using Retin-A, AHAs, or strong exfoliating products in the brow area for at least 2 weeks before your treatment.
Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning beds for 2 weeks prior; we cannot treat sunburned or peeling skin.
Never pick, scratch, or peel any flakes that form; doing so will pull the pigment out and cause patchy results.
Once fully healed, always apply SPF 30+ to your brows when outdoors to prevent premature fading.

Microblading is a specialized semi-permanent technique using a handheld tool to create ultra-fine, hair-like strokes. By depositing pigment into the skin’s upper layers, we fill sparse areas and redefine your arches. The result is a bespoke, natural-looking brow that enhances your unique facial structure while eliminating the need for daily makeup application.
Your brows will initially appear darker and bolder immediately after the procedure. The true, healed color and shape emerge after approximately four weeks as the skin fully recovers. We finalize the look during your mandatory 6-8 week perfecting session, ensuring the pigment settles into a soft, natural finish that complements your skin tone.
Absolutely not! Our signature approach focuses on hyper-realism. We meticulously map your brows according to your bone structure and hand-craft every stroke to mimic the direction of your natural hair growth. This ensures your new brows blend seamlessly with your existing hair for a sophisticated, undetectable enhancement that never looks "tattooed" or heavy.
Yes! Color selection is a collaborative process. During your initial consultation, we analyze your skin’s undertones and your natural brow hair color to custom-mix the perfect pigment. Our goal is to find a flattering shade that heals beautifully, ensuring your brows look vibrant yet entirely natural against your specific complexion.
A standard session lasts between 2 to 2.5 hours. This comprehensive appointment includes a detailed consultation, precision brow mapping to ensure symmetry, and custom pigment selection. We never rush the process, as this dedicated time allows us to achieve the meticulous detail required for high-quality, long-lasting, and symmetrical results you’ll love..
Typically, results last between 12 to 18 months. Longevity varies based on lifestyle, sun exposure, and skin type; for instance, drier skin often retains pigment longer than oily skin. To keep your brows looking crisp and defined, we recommend a "color boost" or yearly touch-up to maintain the perfect shape and vibrancy.
Most clients describe the sensation as light scratching rather than pain. We prioritize your comfort by applying a high-quality topical numbing cream before we begin. If you experience any sensitivity during the process, your artist can apply an additional numbing agent to ensure the experience remains as relaxed and comfortable as possible.
After your session, proper aftercare is essential. In fact, this ensures long-lasting results and prevents infection.
What to Expect During Healing:
For that reason, avoid the following for at least 10 days:
Given these points, always follow the aftercare instructions provided by your artist.
As a dedicated safety precaution at SculptPMUbyMi, we do not perform Microblading or any permanent makeup procedures on clients who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding. This is due to the increased risk of infection, changes in skin pigmentation caused by fluctuating hormones, and the potential for numbing agents to enter the bloodstream.
If you have existing work from another artist, please contact us with clear, high-resolution photos in natural lighting before booking. We need to assess the saturation and shape of the old pigment to determine if we can work over it. In many cases, old tattoos must be faded by at least 50% for new hair strokes to remain crisp and visible. If the previous work is too dark or scarred, we may recommend a removal process first or suggest Ombre Powder Brows instead of Microblading to ensure you receive a result that looks beautiful rather than muddy.
The main difference lies in the technique and the final "vibe." Microblading uses a manual blade to create individual hair-like incisions for a raw, natural look. Ombre Powder Brows use a digital machine to create thousands of tiny dots of pigment, resulting in a soft, mist-like shading that looks like professionally applied brow powder. While Microblading mimics hair, Ombre provides a more "filled-in" depth that is often better for oily skin types.
Yes! This is known as Combination Brows. We use manual microblading strokes at the front of the brow to keep it looking natural and fluffy, then transition into machine shading through the body and tail for added definition and longevity. It is the perfect "best of both worlds" solution for those who want realism but struggle with sparse tails.
While both aim to mimic hair, the tool used is the key differentiator. Microblading is performed with a manual hand tool (slicing the skin slightly), which works best on normal to dry skin. Nano Hair-Strokes are created with a high-precision digital machine and a single "nano" needle. Nano strokes are generally gentler on the skin, cause less trauma, and are a superior option for clients with oily or mature skin who still want the look of individual hairs.
If your skin is oily, has large pores, or is very thin/sensitive, Microblading strokes are more likely to "blur" or expand over time. In these cases, I will suggest Nano Hair-Strokes. Because the machine deposits pigment with more precision and less resistance than a manual blade, the strokes stay crisp, clear, and defined even on challenging skin types.
Usually, Ombre Powder Brows (or a dense Combination Brow) is the better choice for cover-ups. Microblading strokes are translucent and cannot easily hide old, faded grey or red pigment from previous tattoos. The "shading" nature of the Ombre technique allows us to neutralize old colors and provide more uniform coverage, giving you a fresh, clean result without the old tattoo peeking through.
